In September 2015 I went on the road for tow weeks to play my first solo tour in Europe. I Payed nine solo acoustic guitar concerts through Graz, Poznan, Berlin, Rotterdam, Amsterdam to the green deserts of the village Rutenberg in Germany.

Maciej Lewenstein: "To Built The Travelling Room" and "And The Seagull (Above Pleinweg Road)" were recorded at City Art Rotterdam. They both clearly locate Ido in the tradition of Derek and John Russell, but illustrate his originality. He plays in a very fragmented way, making a very abstract impression, but there is certain kind of "melody" in his approach. He uses plenty of echoes, sound reflections and reverb. The music is generally peaceful, yet there are fragments of enormous intensity and expression -- especially in the second track. I love the short and very open "Poznan" for the obvious patriotic reasons and the use of the bow (?), but my real favorite is the 8 minutes long "For My Friend Nir Sabag", the most expressive track of the collection. "For Bill Orcutt" continues similar lines, while "For Peter From The Green Deserts" combines expression with a very appealing lyricism. Excellent album, period.
